Amira's Sausage Rolls



Ingredients:


500g beef mince (low fat)

500g sausage mince

1 onion, finely diced

2 tab tomato sauce

½ cup dried breadcrumbs

6 sheets puff pastry


Optional add ins:

2 tab continental parsley, finely chopped

1 cup grated carrot

2 cloves garlic, minced


Method:


  1. Preheat oven to 200oC (fan forced).

  2. Line oven trays with baking paper or silicon baking sheets.

  3. Separate each puff pastry and place on bench to defrost.

  4. Slice each puff pastry in half.

  5. In a large bowl combine mince, onion, tomato and breadcrumbs.

  6. Press mixture into a square pan and divide into 12 portions (see photo below).

  7. Add each portion onto each strip (see photo below).

  8. Spread out with your fingers into a long shape along the strip (see photo below).

  9. Bring one long side of pastry to the other, encasing the mixture.

  10. Cut into desired length and place on oven trays.

  11. Bake for 30 mins or until browned.
